what a fabulous wedding! Megan and Dave traveled to Des Moines from Chicago for their beautiful wedding at St. Ambrose. Megan’s dress was amazing. I loved it, it was very unique compared to anything I have seen in awhile. I loved the bottom and her perfect little body was stunning in it. Dave is adorable. He is so kind and is head over heels for megan. They let me drop the wedding party off at the Locust Tap in the East Village so i could take the two of them for some shots in a raw environment that i thought was the perfect opposite to her dress. After the Tap and a stop at the park we headed to the Temple Of Performing Arts for her reception. I love so many of their photos, I just hope you all do too!

ohh sweet beautiful babies

Finley might be one of my favorite kids to photograph. She is so beautiful and has a wonderful air about her. She just turned three in march but there is something going on behind those eyes. Her little brother, Oliver, is just as adorable. He is Ryan’s other boyfriend. I know, one day i’ll tell her she has to pick. Until then, she’s just having some fun. This was actually quite the day at the park. As soon as we arrived mom stepped on a bee, her toes swelled up like crazy, a kid falls off a bike, and nearly finds himself in the pond and the bugs are just awful. We had to shoot fast and call it short but we still walked away with some amazing photos. How could you not, look at these two!

anderson is 7 months old…in these photos anyway. I am WAY behind on blogging so I am trying to catch up as much as I can. I had to give some love to this little man. This is Anderson (aka: ryans boyfriend) and all his happy glory. Im so glad we took a few minutes to capture this moment of his life.

meet the big guy, Mile Curtis. He came into this world in a hurry and weighing in at 9 lbs 9 oz. I swear he was already holding his head up at a few weeks old. He is amazing. I was lucky to get to spend a few hours at Miles’s house to take some photos of him in his home. I love these sessions. I love going to someones home for their new baby. Taking photos so in 20 years they can remember what the front porch looked like, remember what was on the walls, remember this chapter of their lives. Thank you for letting me into your home to photograph your miracle. And, just so you don’t forget, im always in for that walk to Snookies…..

laura and john had a stunning day for a wedding. It all started out at lauras house for some getting ready photos then off to the always beautiful, St. Ambrose in Des Moines. After the ceremony we headed off to Stonehaven (my favorite place for a wedding in the state of Iowa. Could have something to do with the fact it is where i got married at too). Surrounded by friends, John gave a funny speech, making mention that his day started out wonderfully with some Casey’s pizza, a walk and then his wedding ending it with a toast to his beautiful bride. She really is quite lovely. After a mini photo session by the main lodge we all had to take 5 minutes to watch Paddy O Prada run her race then took off towards the party barn for the real fun. Laura was full of smiles all day and the night was perfect. Thank you for letting me take part in your day. I hope these images bring a smile to your face and fun memories to mind. enjoy.

the natural momma had her baby! Meet the newest and youngest of the ‘C’ clan. She just happens to be my fourth niece as well! Matt and Jodi welcomed home this little angel face on june 1st. She is just perfect, and has tons of black hair! We are so happy for this new family, and ryan is just thrilled to have another cousin to cause trouble with in the years to come.

We love all of you dearly.

These images are from a wedding i got to second shoot at with the talented Amy Allen. Dana and David were adorable and both of Dana’s dresses were beautiful. I hadn’t seen Dana in over 10 years. It is always fun to run into people you knew in your younger years, later in life, and have the chance to see where this journey has landed them. Dana is with a fabulous guy. I have photographed at two of his sisters weddings so i can attest to the wonderfulness of his family!

i am really, really excited for this wedding. For one, jodi is just as nice as can be and nate will do just about anything. I can’t wait to see what fun we can have on the wedding day. this was my Derby Day Bride! Jen and bryan were so much fun to spend the day with, knowing it was derby day she bought all her ladies bright pink derby hats for their bridesmaids gifts. I thought that was pretty clever. Bryan is so sweet and funny and jen is just oozing love and joy. The way these two look at one another is enough to melt your heart, they are perfect for each other. Her dad said it best, he said “if i had to pick someone for my jen, it would have been you.”

those of you that have been following my blog for the last year or so will remember michaela and tyler. I did their engagement session last year but was unable to do their okoboji wedding. However, i saw some photos of their wedding and michaela was stunning, show stopping stunning. Anyways, meet miss gemma, their newest and smallest addition to the household. She loves to sleep all day and is a quite the cuddle bug. She decided that she wanted to sleep for the few hours I was there, but that was ok, we were able to get some fun stuff anyways. Here is a little peak into day to day life with miss gemma and the joy that she brings to her mom and dad.
