What fun!! I just adore katelyn and colby. If I could clone Katelyn, i would. She is such a joy to be around with an infectious smile and a natural beauty. I am pretty sure she put on lip gloss for the first time in her life at her wedding, and as you will see below she is stunning. Just to review, when katelyns mom was pregnant i gave her a teddy bear to give to her new baby. That new baby was katelyn and she still has the bear. I wish she would have brought it to the wedding! Anywho, flash forward a couple decades (and then some) and katelyn is getting married. She happens to email me, unknowing that i was the same paige who gave her the teddy bear. Such a thrill to be a part of this day, what a small, beautiful world we all live in. Sweet Katelyn was so fun the day of her wedding, she forgot four, maybe five things she was to bring to the church but there wasn’t any stress, it was all laughs and lots of love.

This little guy could wrestle with mom all day if you would let him. He was having so much fun at the park during our photo shoot! It is such a joy to be able to capture this side of a family, the fun loving, laughing moments. Of course we all like the images of everyone looking and smiling but they lack the true emotion and chaos of our lives with children. I love the chaos (when its someone elses! :) ).

enjoy the chaos. embrace it.

She is just a little bundle of joy. I absolutely love going to homes to do newborn sessions. They are the best. I was fortunate enough to spend some time with this little angel face when she was all but a few weeks old. It is amazing how these little miracles have such a profound impact on the lives they touch. The joy that they bring is incomprehensible unless you have experienced it. I love seeing the pure joy a baby can bring, how the parents faces light up and they way they look at them is breath taking. I am so happy for this new little family. congrats.

Kristin and Steve were married in des moines with a reception at the Historical Building. Kristin is a soft spoken, perfect pale skinned, beauty. Steve has been head over heals for her since he sat next to her in a college class. He admits it took him quite some time to get the courage to talk to her. Thankfully he finally said something, clearly it turned out to be the best decision he ever made!

There are some families that you meet that, as a photographer, you silently sit back and hope that one day they ask you to take their photos. I was having a drink with Kim and some girlfriends one evening and she had just had her twins. I knew they would be beautiful children and already knew that her oldest daughter was beautiful. So, needless to say, I was thrilled when i got the email about doing some family photos. They have never done family photos before so i had a lot to live up to! I hope you guys love your photos. You have a darling family that i hope to see again in the future.

Megan and Dave traveled to Des Moines from Chicago for their beautiful wedding at St. Ambrose. Megan’s dress was amazing. I loved it, it was very unique compared to anything I have seen in awhile. I loved the bottom and her perfect little body was stunning in it. Dave is adorable. He is so kind and is head over heels for megan. They let me drop the wedding party off at the Locust Tap in the East Village so i could take the two of them for some shots in a raw environment that i thought was the perfect opposite to her dress. After the Tap and a stop at the park we headed to the Temple Of Performing Arts for her reception. I love so many of their photos, I just hope you all do too!

She is so beautiful and has a wonderful air about her. She just turned three in march but there is something going on behind those eyes. Her little brother, Oliver, is just as adorable. He is Ryan’s other boyfriend. I know, one day i’ll tell her she  has to pick. Until then, she’s just having some fun. :) This was actually quite the day at the park. As soon as we arrived mom stepped on a bee, her toes swelled up like crazy, a kid falls off a bike, and nearly finds himself in the pond and the bugs are just awful. We had to shoot fast and call it short but we still walked away with some amazing photos. How could you not, look at these two!

He came into this world in a hurry and weighing in at 9 lbs 9 oz. I swear he was already holding his head up at a few weeks old. He is amazing. I was lucky to get to spend a few hours at Miles’s house to take some photos of him in his home. I love these sessions. I love going to someones home for their new baby. Taking photos so in 20 years they can remember what the front porch looked like, remember what was on the walls, remember this chapter of their lives. Thank you for letting me into your home to photograph your miracle. And, just so you don’t forget, im always in for that walk to Snookies…..
